On July 29, 2014, the University and College Designers Association (UCDA) announced that Studio Blue, Chicago (www.studioblue.us) has been honored for design excellence for three Krannert Art Museum publications.

The judges evaluated over 1,000 entries from universities across the United States, awarding 179 awards – 5 gold, 8 silver, and 166 awards of excellence.

  • Krannert Art Museum's African Gallery Encounters: The Arts of Africa won an Award of Excellence for exhibition/display graphics.
  • The Krannert Art Museum newsletters for Spring 2013 and Fall 2013 won an Award of Excellence in the newsletter category.
  • Blind Field, the art catalogue accompanying the Blind Field exhibition, curated by Tumelo Mosaka at Krannert Art Museum, won one of five Gold Awards for design—the top prize in the competition.

The exceptional work of all 176 award recipients will be on display at the 44th annual UCDA Design Conference, September 20-23, 2014 in Long Beach, California.
