Krannert Art Museum presents an array of ambitious exhibitions and programs in our galleries and classroom studio spaces.
The museum presents 10–12 high-quality exhibitions and more than 150 educational programs and special events to approximately 120,000 visitors each year. Our innovative programming and vital artistic collaborations regularly engage diverse audiences and build public engagement, resulting in a web of interaction among artists, curators, students, and visitors in the museum space.
KAM is nationally recognized for its extensive collections of ancient Andean, European, and American art, including 20th century paintings, photographs, and works on paper. The museum's award-winning gallery Encounters: The Arts of Africa celebrates the global reach and contemporary relevance of the arts of Africa and its diasporas. These holdings, combined with collections of Asian, ancient Mediterranean, and medieval art, make KAM a premier cultural destination in the State of Illinois.
The main level of the museum houses the majority of KAM's temporary exhibition spaces as well as galleries of European and American art.
The lower level of the museum houses galleries of Decorative Arts, Ancient Mediterranean art, and Andean art, as well as the KAM Auditorium and Education Center.
