Artist Profile

Based in New York City with roots in Houston, TX, she was 2016-2017 Artist-in-Residence at The Studio Museum in Harlem. Knight presented her first solo museum exhibition at Krannert Art Museum in 2017, titled Autumn Knight: In Rehearsal.

Knight's work has been featured in solo exhibitions at DiverseWorks Artpace in San Antonio, Fresh Arts and Project Row Houses in Houston, and the Galveston Artist Residency, as well as group exhibitions at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theatre in Pittsburgh and the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas. Knight’s work was included in the 2019 Whitney Biennial, including her ongoing performance series Sanity TV.

Her work has been recognized with numerous residencies in the United States, England, Panama, and Japan, and with grants from Artadia and The Idea Fund.

Knight attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2016), and completed an MA in Drama Therapy from New York University (2010) and a BA in Theatre Arts and Speech Communications at Dillard University in New Orleans (2003).
