Virtual event

To support participants in their personal exploration of the exhibit theme Pandemics as a Portal to Change, we're offering a panel discussion with local artists. Join us for a talk with local creatives to explore art as a tool for social change. Our panelists include:

Ashanti Files, Urbana Poet Laureate/Writer
Liza Sylvestre, KAM Curator of Academic Programs/Multimedia Artist
Keenan Dailey, Graphic Designer/Multimedia Artist
Elizabeth Simpson, Cooperative Conflict/Performing Artist

Sponsored by Urbana Arts and Culture Program, College of Fine and Applied Arts at Illinois, Museum of the Grand Prairie, The Urbana Free Library, the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center, and Krannert Art Museum. Supported in part by the Illinois Arts Council Agency.

We are seeking submissions of art, performance, poetry, spoken word, dance, performance, and more for the Pandemics as a Portal to Change Exhibition, a community art exhibit where art becomes the way for us to envision worlds beyond the pandemic of COVID-19, without racism and other 'isms, and beyond the climate crisis towards envisioning our world anew.
