Prepared by professional archaeologists at  the Illinois Transportation Archaeological  Research Program (ITARP), this exhibition presented objects of material culture related to Native Peoples who lived in Illinois from approximately 9500 BCE to CE 1800.

More than 100 items were on  display, including clay figurines, bracelets  and other ornaments, spear points and fish  hooks, pipes, cooking jars, digging and  weaving tools, and ceremonial objects of  exquisite quality and variety.

Krannert Art Museum worked with faculty and students of American Indian Studies, Native American House at the University of Illinois, and other collaborators including those whose ancestors are represented by these objects.
