The Praxidike Quartet, comprised of graduate students from the University of Illinois, will give a recital of string quartets by Polish composer, Grażyna Bacewicz and Felix Mendelssohn. Bacewicz’ fourth quartet is her most popular, evoking at turns an eerie post-war sound world, lush romantic harmonies, and a humorous, folk music-inspired finale.
