Rest Lab is a creative, experimental pop-up space that invites resting with intention. Co-created by Krannert Art Museum’s Education Coordinators Ishita Dharap and Kamila Glowacki, Rest Lab has occupied various galleries of Krannert Art Museum to consider what resting means, and what it can look like.
Rest Lab is a project co-created by Ishita Dharap and Kamila Glowacki, Education Coordinators.
Each Rest Lab is different, and for its fifth iteration, the Graduate College will host a pop-up installation of Rest Lab: In Search of Rest. Centered on the theme of connection, the pop-up will encourage visitors to explore rest as a way of sharing, listening, and responding to each other’s needs in community. The large glass windows of the Graduate College will become a space to share requests and receive responses in the form of artworks, text, support, and comfort. Visitors can contribute to Rest Lab during open hours or through programs taking place in the Graduate College and at Krannert Art Museum, allowing connections to form across time and place. Acknowledging everyone’s need for rest, we seek offerings to the prompt “In search of rest: what do you need right now?”
