Join us for a screening of an interview with Shozo Sato at KAM by multimedia artist Marc-Anthony Macon, whose work appears in the exhibition “Kanji as an Art Form: Calligraphy by Students of Shozo Sato.”
Supported by Joyce Chelberg.
In the film, Sato discusses his childhood, teaching traditional Japanese arts at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, and paintings he made in Illinois, California, Colorado, and the American Southwest.
The film is approximately one hour and will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Sato and light refreshments.
