Impressionism started in France and most of the really well known Impressionist painters were French. As the style became more popular, Impressionism was brought to America.
In Impressionist art, the artist captures the image of an object as someone would see it if they just caught a glimpse of it. You might have heard of the phrase ‘your first impression.’ They paint the pictures with a lot of colors and most of their pictures are outdoor scenes. The artists like to capture their images without much detail.
